Honduran Internet Cafe?

Today, Dan worked with Pastor Giron on doing a shelf underneath the bar area in the cafetaria. Mark & Gayle worked on putting up the ceiling tiles in the other two rooms. Lisa, Eliza, Kelly & Sara sanded and mudded the rest of the areas and started the priming work. We also cleaned up all the work rooms with a broom and dustpan. This was a major part of the work since the sanding created quite a mess. We are getting the colored paint tomorrow for the rooms and will be able to paint each of them. We are excited that we got this much work done and are looking forward to the finished product tomorrow. Sara & Kelly also had Sendy take them to a Pupperia and we had our first Pepsi in a bag today. The director of the school visited today to see our progress.
Last night we made our first Baskins Robbins run of the week ... everyone was joyful after Dan's devotion. We got to talk to Amanda but she didn't have her devotion ready so Dan took another turn. We had to list 5 joyful thoughts and try to focus on always having joyful thoughts in our heart and mind ... so they come out our mouth and body!! It was pretty cool!
We are having spaghetti for dinner tonight ...
Mike is always laughing because out of a team of 7 we have 4 computers here ... not including his ... he is thinking of opening an internet cafe!
Missing you all ... and feeling your prayers ...

Working hard!

Kelly finished the high up painting with me and Sara filling in the white spots on the lower bricks and the drop ceiling is in the big part of the upstairs. Danny, Sara & Kelly held a 19 day old baby (a friend of Sendy who named her baby after her). What a blessing to know that this child will have a computer room and cafeteria. Gayle hung the rest of the drywall and started setting up the drop ceiling rails in the smaller room upstairs while Eliza continued to mud the drywall. Marcos and Mike and Danny worked on the drop ceiling in the bigger room upstairs. Things are going awesome. It is Amanda's turn to do devotions tonight ... we are gonna call and see if she can do it.
We had a wonderful devotion time last night that Sara did and we sang lots of songs with Marcos at the guitar. It was beautiful. We are all having a GREAT time!
We miss all of you!

Back to Work

Today we went back to work at the school. Had to be there early. Sara stayed home sick today .. too much eating the Honduran food yesterday we think. Kelly & I painted while Dan work with Pastor Giron on cement and Gayle, Mark & Eliza continued upstairs on the dry wall and started the drop ceiling. Once the paint ran out, Kelly & I also headed upstairs and put nails up where each of the wires would hold the drop ceiling. Kelly & Dan also got caught in a huge water fight in the rain ... worst storm I've ever seen here ... the kids were all throwing water on each other out of the Pila, too. Hopefully Kelly & Dan didn't swallow too much or they will be sick .. praying!!!
Tonight we went to El Patio for a traditional Honduran dinner with all the fixings and goodies. Sara was better and was able to join us. It was very good and we were entertained by a Marachi band ... pretty cool ... We then went for a drive through the capital to see Picachu and other sites.
It was a VERY GOOD time!!

No Power in Honduras!

Today we woke up to NO POWER ... we were supposed to have waffles this morning, but thanks to mission team #5 from Victory Highway and the new grill they bought Mike & Glenda, we were able to at least have eggs and sausage. Then we went to the souvenir place, Valley of the Angels. Everyone bought lots of goodies to bring home. We tasted a couple of different Honduran treats ... and really had fun together ... even with the rain. And we got to ride in the big red truck ... Kelly has a new talent .. you'll have to ask her about it.
In the evening ... we went to Pastor Giron's church. The team sang Days of Elijah and Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord and Pastor Mark preached with Glenda interpretting. It was an awesome night. Dan did devotions tonight on LOVE ... why, what, and how come!!! AWESOME day ... all in all!!!

Working Hard in Honduras

Today we went to the school for our first day of work ... it was a blast. Sara, Lisa & Kelly painted with oil based paint and got the majority of the first floor inside painted. We have the higher areas to work on tomorrow. Gayle, Mark and Eliza worked on the drywall upstairs and have it mostly completed. Dan worked with some of the older youth on pulling the wiring. Things are really starting to take shape and look awesome. We also spent a ton of time with the kids. It was a very fun day! The boys in Mike's youth group sold goodies in the afternoon and we have donuts for tomorrow morning ... YUM! I also reconnected with Ingrid and Mark with Rosa and we were able to give them our gifts. Looking forward to pork chops for dinner tonight! Glenda is an excellent cook!

From Lisa

I got this email from Lisa last night:

Mission Team #6 was blessed by many family members and friends who came to see us off. We had a few problems with the bus but nothing that Pastor Patrick Holder & Ray Mallow didn't work through. We arrived without problem and Sara made her first trip on an airplane. We arrived in Atlanta and settled into some hotel rooms, ordered pizza and crashed. Got up early to meet the shuttle and discovered Amanda's passport was missing. We were unable to locate it and she had to go home. We all shed a few tears through that episode. Everything else has gone fine. No problems at the airport or customs .. we met Mike & Glenda and Glenda drove the truck with our luggage and Mike drove the van with the majority of us. Glenda surprised us with a great chicken dinner. We ate ... changed in our money ... and finally got to the school!!! The kids were happy to see us and we were able to just hang out with them ... it was great fun. When we got home, Dan made homemade tortillas for all and then we are doing devotions and heading for bed.
Our love to all ... we miss you and love you ... but really believe GOD has a plan and we are here to fulfill it!

Today they will be heading to the school to do some work. They have plans to start on some drywall and wiring. Please continue to keep them all in your prayers.
